What Dr. Canfield Loves Most About Being A Dentist

WE RECENTLY ASKED DR. CANFIELD a few questions about her dentistry career. Here are her answers. We thought you’d find it interesting!

How old were you, and what made you decide you wanted to become a dentist?

“Since I was little I always wanted to be in the medical field, but probably started leaning towards dentistry in middle school. By High School I was working at a dental office and loving it.”

Where did you attend school and how long have you been practicing?

“I went to West Virginia University. Go Mountaineers!!!! I have been practicing dentistry for eight years.”

What advice would you give to a young person considering a career in dentistry?

“Go for it! It is a great profession to be in. Be prepared to work really hard through school—it is demanding but well worth it.”

What is the one thing you find most satisfying about being a dentist?

“Making people smile, of course. I really enjoy educating people on how your mouth affects the rest of your body and health!”

We hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know Dr. Canfield better! And, as always, THANKS for being our valued patients and friends!
